This initiative represents a significant component of the broader infrastructure development strategy currently being implemented by the Mogadishu Local Government to modernize the capital&#8217;s essential services.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"4\">In his address at the ceremony, Governor Mungab emphasized the strategic value of the project, noting that the Boondheere pond serves as a critical water catchment basin for five separate districts within the Benadir region. He stated that the rehabilitation will significantly improve the city&#8217;s drainage system, mitigate flood risks during the rainy seasons, and facilitate smoother mobility for both vehicular traffic and pedestrians in the surrounding areas.<\/p>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"5\">The Governor announced that the maintenance and dredging of the facility are fully funded by the Mogadishu Municipality.
