During the operation, two members of the Al-Shabaab terrorist group, who had been actively involved in extortion and threatening the safety of local civilians, were apprehended.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary investigations confirmed that one of the detainees, identified as Zakariye, is the son of Moallim Abdirahman, a senior Al-Shabaab leader currently being pursued by the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n<p>The Commandos also seized a motorcycle used by the terrorists for mobility, as well as weapons and other materials that indicate ongoing planning of attacks targeting civilians.<\/p>\n<p>This operation is part of the continuous nationwide efforts to dismantle the Al-Shabaab network and to strengthen the security and protection of the Somali people<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Somali National Army&#8217;s Danab Commandos conducted a targeted security operation in the Towfiiq area, under Tora-Toorow in the Lower Shabelle region.
