The high-level gathering brought together representatives from IGAD member states to review progress, challenges, and strategic priorities for the coming year, with a strong focus on identifying durable solutions for internally displaced persons (IDPs).<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the meeting, the NRDP presented Somalia\u2019s Durable Solutions Plan, which highlights the country\u2019s renewed commitment to ensuring sustainable support systems for displaced communities. Central to this plan is the Internally Displaced Persons Bill, recently passed by both Houses of Parliament, marking a significant milestone in strengthening legal protections and long-term assistance for IDPs.<\/p>\n<p>The Nairobi meeting is scheduled to conclude tomorrow, after which a joint communiqu\u00e9 will be issued.
