The Prime Minister emphasized that agriculture is the backbone of the Somali economy and plays a vital role in the development of communities worldwide. He highlighted that the government prioritizes boosting domestic production, especially as the world faces growing food insecurity, which has forced many countries to halt exports of their crops.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur land is highly suitable for farming and has sufficient water resources. Somalia could achieve self-sufficiency if agricultural production is developed. The government is committed to promoting an economy based on agriculture and livestock,\u201d said Prime Minister Hamza.<\/p>\n
He commended the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation for their efforts in organizing farmers and cooperatives, stressing the importance of raising awareness and knowledge among farmers. He also called on Somali entrepreneurs to reconsider their investments and actively support domestic agricultural production, noting the sector\u2019s significant economic potential.<\/p>\n
\u201cSomalia occupies a strategic location of global importance, and many countries are ready to invest in our nation, particularly in agriculture and livestock,\u201d added Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre.<\/p>\n
