The Prime Minister reaffirmed the historic friendship between Somalia and the People\u2019s Republic of China, stressing Somalia\u2019s commitment to transforming this longstanding relationship into practical cooperation that directly benefits the Somali people.<\/p>\n
He noted that the recent elevation of bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership marked a historic milestone for both nations, underscoring the need to translate it into tangible outcomes. He also reiterated Somalia\u2019s firm support for the One-China Principle as part of its commitment to strengthening political trust between the two countries.<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Hamza highlighted Somalia\u2019s readiness to expand cooperation in key sectors including fisheries, agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and human capacity development. He further emphasized the progress Somalia has achieved in recent years, such as debt relief, economic reforms, security stabilization, and its accession to the East African Community (EAC) and membership of the United Nations Security Council, all of which, he said, enhance Somalia\u2019s credibility on the international stage.<\/p>\n
For his part, Vice Chairman He Wei commended Somalia\u2019s resilience and reiterated China\u2019s readiness to work closely with Somalia to implement the agreements reached during meetings between President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and President Xi Jinping. He underlined China\u2019s continued support for Somalia\u2019s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.<\/p>\n
