Mogadishu, (SONNA) \u2013 The Governor of the Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), received the Ambassador of Italy to Somalia, H.E. Pier Mario Dacc\u00f2 Coppi, at Mogadishu\u2019s City Hall for discussions on enhancing cooperation between local governments\u2014particularly between the Banadir Regional Administration and Italy\u2019s Lombardy Region.<\/p>\n
Mayor Muungaab welcomed Italy\u2019s long-standing support for Somalia\u2019s reconstruction and stabilization efforts, highlighting the importance of establishing direct cooperation with the Lombardy Region, home to the city of Rome. He noted that such collaboration could facilitate the exchange of valuable experience and expertise to support the Banadir Administration\u2019s service delivery and development goals.<\/p>\n
The Mayor also shared key priorities with the Ambassador, including the rehabilitation of infrastructure, roads, drainage systems, water channels, as well as improvements in education, healthcare, governance, and financial management.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Dacc\u00f2 Coppi expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and commended the Banadir Administration and the broader Somali government for their efforts in rebuilding, peacebuilding, and countering terrorism.
