Djibouti, (SONNA) \u2013 The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a productive meeting this morning at the Presidential Palace in Djibouti with the President of the Republic of Djibouti, H.E. Isma\u00efl Omar Guelleh.<\/p>\n

The two leaders discussed strengthening the strategic ties between their nations, with a focus on deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including security, the fight against Al-Shabaab, and Djibouti\u2019s continued support for Somalia\u2019s state-building and stabilization efforts.<\/p>\n

Humanitarian issues were also high on the agenda, particularly the drought-induced crisis affecting parts of Somalia, including the Awdal region. President Hassan Sheikh appealed for Djibouti\u2019s support in delivering timely assistance to communities impacted by the drought.<\/p>\n

The leaders exchanged views on the broader situation in the Horn of Africa, reaffirming the importance of close collaboration and consistent dialogue to address regional challenges.<\/p>\n

Both presidents underscored that Somalia\u2019s stability, unity, and development are central to lasting peace and prosperity in the region.
