Ankara, (SONNA) \u2013 Somalia and T\u00fcrkiye have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen cooperation in public auditing, transparency, and financial oversight, marking a significant step in Somalia\u2019s ongoing institutional reform efforts.<\/p>\n

The agreement was signed in Ankara between Somalia\u2019s Auditor General, Ahmed Guutaale, and T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s President of the Court of Accounts, Metin Yener, and aims to strengthen technical collaboration between the two supreme audit institutions.<\/p>\n

Under the MoU, both countries committed to:<\/p>\n

  1. Exchanging audit methodologies and best practices in independent public financial oversight<\/li>\n
  2. Sharing expertise on performance audits, legal compliance, IT-driven audit systems, and data analysis<\/li>\n
  3. Conducting joint research and capacity-building programs to professionalize Somalia\u2019s public audit workforce<\/li>\n
  4. Facilitating postgraduate education in fields including finance, law, IT, and public sector accountability<\/li>\n
  5. Enhancing coordination on resource auditing and improving follow-up mechanisms on audit recommendations<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Both sides hailed the agreement as a milestone in their bilateral relations, with the potential to significantly strengthen Somalia\u2019s public financial management institutions and promote greater accountability and good governance.<\/p>\n
