Bihi Iman Egeh, held a series of high-level engagements on the first day of the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group 2025 in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>He met with Mr. Zarau Wendeline Kibwe, Executive Director for the Africa Group 1 Constituency at the World Bank Group, to discuss Somalia\u2019s ongoing economic reforms, the Bank\u2019s project pipeline, Central Bank reforms, economic growth, and strengthening institutional capacity. The Minister expressed gratitude for the continued partnership and support from Mr. Kibwe and his office in advancing Somalia\u2019s transformation agenda at the Bank Board level.<\/p>\n<p>In a separate meeting, the Minister engaged with the African Legal Support Facility, Global Sovereign Advisory, and Kepler-Karst to explore legal and policy strategies to ensure sustainable debt management in the post-debt relief phase. He emphasized the importance of these independent experts in supporting the Ministry of Finance\u2019s efforts to improve debt transparency and governance.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Minister had a productive discussion with Dr. Mohamed Maait, Executive Director of Somalia\u2019s IMF constituency, and senior IMF officials. The dialogue focused on the progress of the IMF Successor Program, strategies for domestic revenue mobilization, innovations in tax administration, financial sector development, and strengthening public financial management systems.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to deepening economic reforms aimed at fostering stability, growth, and development.<\/p>\n<p><img
