Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (SONNA)<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Somalia is proudly participating in the 2nd East African Cultural, Arts, and Crafts Festival, currently underway in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The event, which aims to promote regional integration through art and culture, has drawn ministers and delegates from across East Africa.<\/p>\n

The Somali delegation, led by the Federal Republic of Somalia\u2019s Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Mr. Da\u2019uud Aweys Jama, arrived in Addis Ababa to join representatives from Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda, Djibouti, South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Kenya, and host country Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

The festival was officially inaugurated today by Ethiopia\u2019s Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Temesgen Tiruneh, who emphasized the importance of cultural exchange in fostering unity and cooperation among East African nations.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, Minister Da\u2019uud Aweys highlighted the significance of the gathering, stating that its primary goal is to leverage culture as a tool to strengthen diplomatic ties, enhance social integration, and promote collaboration among East African countries.<\/p>\n

Under the theme\u00a0“Art and Culture for Regional Integration,”<\/em>\u00a0the festival showcases the rich cultural heritage of the East African region. The event brings together artists, craftsmen, and cultural enthusiasts from diverse communities, offering a platform to celebrate shared traditions and foster mutual understanding.<\/p>\n

The participation of Somalia in this high-profile event shows the country\u2019s commitment to regional cooperation and its dedication to preserving and promoting its cultural identity on the international stage.<\/p>\n
