Mogadishu, (SONNA) \u2014 Somalia\u2019s Deputy Prime Minister, Salah Ahmed Jama, today presided over the handover ceremony between the incoming Minister of Commerce and Industry, Mahmoud Ahmed Aden (Geesood), and his predecessor, Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Jama urged the new minister to advance the government\u2019s vision of boosting trade, strengthening the economy, and enhancing industrial development. He emphasized the importance of increasing Somalia\u2019s industrial productivity and expanding international trade relations, especially following the country\u2019s recent accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).<\/p>\n

Jama highlighted the Ministry of Commerce and Industry\u2019s pivotal role in Somalia\u2019s economic growth, calling on Minister Geesood to lead efforts in streamlining trade processes, promoting economic development, and fostering a more dynamic business environment.<\/p>\n
