Mogadishu, (SONNA) \u2014 The Somali National Army (SNA), in collaboration with international partners, has carried out a carefully coordinated airstrike operation targeting key Al-Shabaab militant facilities in Jilib, Middle Jubba region. The operation struck several high-value targets, including the district headquarters, the group\u2019s so-called \u201cmilitary command center,\u201d two training and explosives-making facilities, as well as two residences belonging to senior commanders Hassan Yaqoub and Amin.<\/p>\n
The airstrikes successfully destroyed all targeted locations, inflicting heavy casualties on the militants, including deaths and injuries among their ranks. The government is currently conducting a thorough assessment to determine the full extent of the damage.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the SNA and international partners conducted further airstrikes on Al-Shabaab\u2019s major strongholds in El-Bacad, located at the border of Middle Shabelle and Galgaduud regions, and Mubarak in the Lower Shabelle region, dealing another blow to the group\u2019s operational capacity.<\/p>\n
The Somali National Army, supported by its international allies and the courageous Somali people, remains committed to intensifying the fight against al-Shabaab until every inch of Somali soil is liberated from their grip.<\/p>\n
