Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The National Security Adviser to the President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hussein Moallim provided an update on the Somali government\u2019s successful measures in countering the threats posed by Al-Shabaab terrorists. In an exclusive interview with state media, he detailed the comprehensive strategies\u2014both overt and covert\u2014that have been implemented to disrupt and dismantle the militant group.<\/p>\n
Mr. Hussein emphasized that the government\u2019s top priority has been to defeat Al-Shabaab militants on the battlefield. He stated that significant progress has been made, with Somali forces successfully expelling the militants from their former strongholds, where they had been orchestrating attacks against civilians.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the adviser highlighted the government\u2019s efforts to cripple Al-Shabaab\u2019s financial networks. He noted that stringent measures have been put in place to cut off all possible revenue streams used by the militants, ensuring they can no longer fund their operations.<\/p>\n
In addition to military and financial crackdowns, Moallim pointed out that the government has restored essential public services in areas liberated from Al-Shabaab. These services include healthcare, education, and the rehabilitation of water wells previously destroyed by the militants.<\/p>\n
