Beijing, (SONNA) – The Ambassador of the Federal Government of Somalia to the People\u2019s Republic of China, Dr. Hodan Osman Abdi arrived in Beijing, China and was warmly welcomed by the Staff of the Embassy of Somali in China and the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs showing the longstanding relationship between Somalia and China.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Hodan arrived in China to officially assume her responsibilities as an Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the People\u2019s Republic of China.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am honored and pleased to return to China once more, this time in an official capacity to assume the position of Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Somalia to the People\u2019s Republic of China,\u201d Dr. Hodan said.<\/p>\n
The Ambassador also said, \u201cUpon my arrival, I was warmly and graciously received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Protocol Department, whose hospitality was reflective of the strong bonds between our two countries.<\/p>\n
Ambassador Hodan who is well known and respected in China had the pleasure of being received by several other Ambassadors posted in Beijing like the Ambassadors of Cameroon, Senegal, AU and others.<\/p>\n
\u201dI was also very pleased to be welcomed by esteemed and seasoned African diplomats, including:<\/p>\n
H.E. Ambassador Martin Mpana, Cameroon\u2019s Ambassador to China who is also the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in China and Dean of the Group of African Ambassadors to China.<\/p>\n
H.E. Rahmatallah Mohamed Osman, Head of Mission for the African Union Permanent Mission to China \u2013 Beijing Office.<\/p>\n
H.E. Ambassador Ibrahima Sory Sylla, Ambassador of Senegal to China, and the outgoing FOCAC Co-chair\u201d, Mrs. Hodan said.<\/p>\n
Their warm reception, along with the support of her Somali colleagues, makes her feel that she returned not just to a place, but to a community that is united and supportive.<\/p>\n
The Ambassador said that she is excited about the opportunity to strengthen these bonds and to work diligently in advancing Somalia’s partnership with China and engaging positively with the international community.<\/p>\n
