Mogadishu, July 12, 2024<\/strong> \u2013 Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu witnessed a historic moment today as Egypt Air\u2019s inaugural flight touched down, marking the airline\u2019s first-ever service to the Somali capital. The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Mr. Ahmed Ma\u2019allin Fiqi, and the Minister of Transport and Aviation of Somalia, Fardowsa Mohamed Igaal.<\/p>\n

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry led the delegation that arrived in Mogadishu, emphasizing the significance of this new air link between Cairo and Mogadishu. Minister Shoukry\u2019s visit signifies the strengthening of bilateral relations between Egypt and Somalia.<\/p>\n

At a press conference held at the airport, both ministers expressed optimism about the potential impact of Egypt Air\u2019s flights. Minister Fiqi highlighted that these new connections would not only enhance economic ties but also promote trade, tourism, and investment opportunities. The flight route, which includes a stop in Djibouti before continuing to Mogadishu, is expected to facilitate greater diplomatic engagement and people-to-people exchanges.<\/p>\n
