Mogadishu, (SONNA):- Somalia’s Finance Minister, Mr. Bihi Iman Ige, has concluded a two-week meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on the country’s economic development.<\/p>\n
The meeting, which took place in Nairobi, Kenya, reviewed Somalia’s financial progress in the last three months, following the completion of the debt relief program that granted Somalia access to new resources from the IMF.<\/p>\n
Mr. Ige expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting and reaffirmed the Ministry of Finance’s commitment to implementing and achieving the country’s economic development plans.<\/p>\n
He said that the meeting was an opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Somalia’s economy, as well as the priorities and reforms needed to enhance growth, stability, and resilience.<\/p>\n
He also thanked the IMF for its continued support and partnership with Somalia, and praised the efforts of the Somali government and people in advancing the economic recovery process.<\/p>\n
The meeting was part of the IMF’s regular consultations with Somalia under the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) arrangement, which aims to support Somalia’s economic and institutional reforms over the next three years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
