Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has unveiled the Somalia\u2019s Centennial Vision 2060 Development Process which is the basis for the development of life, liberation and stability, the construction of economic infrastructure and governance of our country.<\/p>\n
The event witnessed a distinguished gathering, including government officials, representatives from the international community, and civil society organizations. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud delivered a compelling speech, acknowledging the challenges that have hindered the lives of the Somali people\u2014conflicts, insecurity, droughts, and floods. He emphasized that Vision 2060 serves as a bridge between the current generation and future generations, aiming to propel the country t<\/span><\/span>owards prosperity and progress.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Addressing a diverse audience, the President emphasized that everyone present, both in the room and beyond, is regarded as an architect and stakeholder in this historic process, emphasizing the collective responsibility for shaping the common future of Somalia. Reflecting on the genesis of this long-term transformative vision, the President noted that the official birth of the idea<\/span><\/span> was<\/span><\/span> on January 1st this year <\/span><\/span>and <\/span><\/span><\/a>marked a significant milestone, preceded by thorough cont<\/span><\/span>emplation and internal debates.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n “Today, we are starting a new journey, a journey that will lead our country to prosperity and progress. The Millennium Vision 2060 shows our commitment to overcome the current challenges, creating a solid foundation for the generations to come<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>“<\/span><\/span> He said<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n The <\/span><\/span>2060<\/span><\/span> Vision<\/span><\/span> consists of three parts:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 1. Near-term goals (2023-2025): this goal is based on stability, eradication of terrorism and finding solutions to humanitarian issues.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 2. Mid-Term Goals (2025-2040): Building institutional capacity, reforming government structures and ensuring good governance.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n 3. Long Term Goals (2035-2060) emphasizing economic development, raising living standards and social integration.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n This visionary roadmap symbolizes a unified commitment to a brighter future, marking a significant milestone in Somalia’s journey towards sustained growth and prosperity.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Concluding his <\/span><\/span>address,<\/span><\/span> the <\/span><\/span>president said, <\/span><\/span>“As we embark on this transformative journey outlined in the Centennial Vision 2060, let us draw strength from the resilience and perseverance of our people.
