Mahaas, SONNA –<\/strong> President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud met with politicians, intellectuals and traditional elders in Mahaas district in Hiran region on Wednesday, where he discussed the security situation and the fight against al-Shabaab terrorists.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by prominent figures from the Hiran region. The president listened to their views and suggestions on how to improve the security and development of the region, and how to counter the threat of al-Shabaab terrorists, who have been waging a violent insurgency in the country for over a decade.<\/span><\/p>\n

The president praised the community of Hiran region for their good role in fighting terrorism and supporting the Somali National Army. He said that Somalia has one enemy that is a challenge to the existence and development of the country, and it is necessary to overcome the differences of views that undermine the unity of the nation in order to achieve meaningful victories in the struggle to liberate the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

The president thanked the community leaders for their hospitality and their efforts to bring peace and development to Somalia.<\/span><\/p>\n
