Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Today is one of the most blessed days of the Islamic year (‘the day of Arafat’) as Hajj pilgrims gather at Mount Arafat, also known as the Mount of Mercy (Jabal Ar-Rahmah) where they will spend the day before they move to Muzdalifah in the city of Mecca.<\/p>\n

The pilgrims have reached Mount Arafat on the third day and they are ready\u00a0to make the climax of the pilgrimage.<\/p>\n

The ritual is the high point of the annual pilgrimage, one of the five pillars of Islam.<\/p>\n

Officials say that this year’s pilgrimage is the biggest in three years after the Covid-19 restrictions.<\/p>\n

The Kingdom has made official invitations to many Muslim leaders around the world and other officials to perform the Hajj.<\/p>\n

One of the guests includes a former South African priest who has taken the Shahadah (acceptance of faith) almost three months ago.<\/p>\n

The former priest said that he had visions that told him to call all of his members at the church to wear white clothes.<\/p>\n

He said, “After several visions, I told my people to come to the church wearing white clothes like the Muslims”.<\/p>\n

Reverend Abraham Richmond who is now known as Hajj Ibrahim was a priest for 15 years at a church in South Africa that had about 100,000 followers and he led all of them to Islam.<\/p>\n

On this day, people who are performing the Hajj pilgrimage have a long day ahead of them, and the rest of the Muslims around the world who are of age are mostly fasting.<\/p>\n

The fasting on the day of Arafat is very important because it expiates the sins of the preceding year and the coming year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
