{"id":417650,"date":"2023-06-07T14:39:02","date_gmt":"2023-06-07T11:39:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sonna.so\/en\/?p=417650"},"modified":"2023-06-07T14:39:02","modified_gmt":"2023-06-07T11:39:02","slug":"pm-hamza-abdi-barre-meets-with-un-special-representative-for-somalia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sonna.so\/en\/pm-hamza-abdi-barre-meets-with-un-special-representative-for-somalia\/","title":{"rendered":"PM Hamza Abdi Barre Meets with UN Special Representative for Somalia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mogadishu, Somalia, (SONNA) &#8211; Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre welcomed the United Nations Secretary General&#8217;s new Special Representative for Somalia, Catriona Laing today at his office.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting focused on discussing UN assistance for Somalia&#8217;s transition to sustainable socio-economic, security and political development.<\/p>\n<p>During the meeting, the PM and SRSG explored avenues to strengthen this progress through Government outlined priorities.<\/p>\n<p>The PM praised the UN family for their relentless backing of the Somali people and institutions, stating that their close collaboration had saved millions of lives and prevented a famine in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The PM urged for continued cooperation and coordination, aligning UN support with the Government\u2019s current agenda.
