Prime Minister Calls for Increased Efforts to Fight Corruption"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mogadishu, SONNA (May 17, 2023) &#8211; In a recent meeting with Directors and General Managers of the Government, Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre reiterated the government\u2019s focus on fighting corruption.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasized accountability as a top priority and urged officials to deliver results in line with the government\u2019s efforts to increase transparency in administration and management.<\/p>\n<p>During his speech, the Prime Minister identified Al-Shabaab terrorism and corruption as the two major enemies of the Somali people.<\/p>\n<p>He called for a more serious war against corruption and inefficiency, similar to the open war waged against terrorism.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of these efforts is to eliminate corruption and promote clean governance in Somalia.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister\u2019s strong stance against corruption has been welcomed by many who see it as a
