Addis Ababa(SONNA)-President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohammed Abdullahi Mohammed on Tuesday held talks on on enhancing bilateral cooperation towards regional security, economic growth and development for mutual prosperity, SONNA reported.<\/p>\n

The President hailed the people of Ethiopia for their participation in the democratic election and congratulated Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed for the victory.<\/p>\n

President Farmaajo wished PM Abiy success while assuring him support as he enters the new term.<\/p>\n

Delivering speech at the inauguration ceremony of the establishment of the Ethiopia’s new Government, President Farmajo said that Ethiopia and Somalia enjoy historical bilateral relations and a strong bond of friendship built on mutual respect, strong people-to people relations and increasing interdependence.<\/p>\n

The president pointed out that amidst COVID-19, climate change and terrorism challenges and existential threats there have never been a need for visionary leaders to solve the crisis.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmongst all of today\u2019s difficulties, leaders must offer solutions, hope and deliver results that can drive progress and prosperity for their people and nations. I strongly believe that African leaders when working with the people and for the good of their good of their common future are unstoppable force. The 6th<\/sup>\u00a0Ethiopian elections result clearly shows that the Ethiopian people have invested their future with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed who has proven to them that he is personally committed to their inclusive development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

President\u00a0Mohammed finally said the friendship of Ethiopia and Somalia will be further strengthened, including in trade and fighting terrorism.<\/p>\n
