Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo, has congratulated all members of the Somali National Army and their families on the 60th anniversary of the formation of the National Army.<\/p>\n<p>The President pointed out that a strong and effective army is vital to our nationhood and the regeneration of our country, and that the government has taken a decisive step towards the reform of the Armed Forces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Armed Forces are our national symbol and stands for defending the national sovereignty. We are still not where we wanted to be, but as a government, we embarked on a plan to reform and rebuild our army\u201d, President Farmajo said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The Somali National Army was established on April 12, 1960\u00a0 marking such anniversary to remember our gallant heroes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mogadishu (SONNA):-The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E.
