{"id":396854,"date":"2020-02-17T15:31:43","date_gmt":"2020-02-17T12:31:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sonna.so\/en\/?p=396854"},"modified":"2020-02-18T12:52:07","modified_gmt":"2020-02-18T09:52:07","slug":"senior-leader-of-al-shaabab-surrounds-to-somalia-national-army-in-bakool-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sonna.so\/en\/senior-leader-of-al-shaabab-surrounds-to-somalia-national-army-in-bakool-region\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior leader of Al-Shabaab surrenders to Somali National Army"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Hudur (SONNA)<\/strong>: The Somali National army officers based in Bakool region <strong>(<\/strong>South-west State<strong>)<\/strong> announced that a senior commander of Al-shabaab militant group has surrendered himself to the National army,after 11 years of serving the terrorist group. <strong>(SONNA)<\/strong> reported<\/p>\n<p>In an official statement, Ibrahim Issack Ibrahim one of the Bokool regional Authorities said that \u201cThe defector called Awlad Abdulrahman Mohamad, who served in Al-Shabaab militant group for almost 11 years.<\/p>\n<p>This cames after the defector had initially communicated with National Army officers in the Bakool region,then surrendered himself to the National Army willingly.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Mr Ibrahim has expressed his thanks and appreciation to the National army for their intensive efforts to eradicate the remnants of Al-Shabaab militias.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, the defected Al-shabaab member Olad Abdirahman indicated that he worked as a driver for the terrorist group, adding that he is \u201c<strong>no longer<\/strong>\u201d follolwing their extreme ideology because \u201c<strong>he can\u2019t accept any more<\/strong>\u201d the terrible results of their fatal actions that totally contradicts the core value of Islam.<\/p>\n<p>The National Army has been escalating the level of it&#8217;s military operations\u00a0 against Al-shabaab militants.In addition to that,the National Army conducts public awareness campaigns, resulting in restoring security, law and order in many liberated-territories from Al-shabaab.<\/p>\n<p>Recently,the number of Al-shabaab defects has been increasing since the beginning of these operations and campaigns in the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hudur (SONNA): The Somali National army officers based in Bakool region (South-west State) announced that a senior commander of Al-shabaab militant group has surrendered himself to the National army,after 11 years of serving the terrorist group.
