Somalia, Qatar reservations on Arab League resolution on Turkish Peace Spring Process

Mogadishu(SONNA)– Qatar and Somalia have expressed reservations over the statement of the Arab ministerial meeting on the Turkish military operation in northeastern Syria and the developments there, Somali National news agency (SONNA)reported.

The Arab League Council held an emergency meeting at the level of foreign ministers on Saturday to discuss the Turkish operation “spring of peace” at the request of Egypt.

The League’s Secretary General, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, called on Turkey to stop military operations in Syria, warning of ethnic cleansing and demographic change there.

Most Arab countries have called on Turkey to stop its military operations in Syria, expressing its condemnation of the operation “spring of peace.”
