Kigali, Rwanda – Somalia’s Ambassador to Tanzania and Non-Resident Ambassador to Rwanda, Ilyas Ali Hassan, recently held a productive meeting with members of the Somali business community and students residing in Rwanda. The gathering in Kigali served as a platform for the Ambassador to reaffirm the Embassy’s dedication to providing accessible services and fostering closer cooperation with the Somali diaspora.
During the engagement, Ambassador Hassan highlighted Somalia’s appreciation for Rwanda’s visa-free policy, which facilitates easier movement and collaboration between the two nations. He underscored Somalia’s commitment to further enhancing collaboration across key sectors including trade, education, and security. These efforts, he noted, are being pursued in alignment with the standards set by the East African Community (EAC).
The Ambassador’s visit and interaction with the Somali community in Rwanda signify the Embassy’s ongoing commitment to supporting its citizens abroad while strengthening bilateral ties with host nations.
