Mogadishu (SONNA) Minster of women and human rights development for the federal government of Somalia H.E Hanif Mohamed Ibrahim met with UN especial representative to Somalia James Swan, for the aim of corporation between the ministry and UN agencies in Somalia.
During the meeting, minster Hanifa Habsade and UN’s James Swan have discussed on several issues concerning about women participation in politics here in Somalia, respecting for human rights during elections and other key issues that are on the top of priorities for ministry of women and human rights development.
To implement the works of the ministry, H.E Hanifa Mohamed Ibrahim mention the need for collaborating between UN agencies operating in the country and her ministry, by focusing the key laws for human rights development.
UN especial representative to Somalia James Swan welcomed the establishment of women quota of 30% advocating center by the ministry of women and human development of Somalia federal government, and urged the acceleration of women empowerment and human rights development.
The key issues to be focusing by the ministry including strategy for prevention of child recruitments, and consultations about the drift National child recruitment law and the role women in participation of political process both state and federal levels, that has recently been escalating.
