Mogadishu (SONNA)-The Somali Minister of Finance H.E Dr.Abdirahman Dua'ale Bayle stated that the IMF and the World Bank annual meetings in Washington D.C have come to an end. This Annual meetings was attendant by IMF and the World Bank officials to discuss Economic growth and Somali debt relief program. In addition, The Minister of finance mentioned that he attended a meeting between officials from the African Monetary fund (AMF) and the World Bank President David Malpass, Along with IMF director Kristalina Georgieva.
“I greatly commended their commitment and support to Africa and to Somalia, particularly in Somalia's economic reforms” Minister Bayle said.
Moreover, The Finance Minister has stressed that the country on its way to debt relief, which implies a good sign for economic reforms.
At last, He concluded by saying that the efforts of our government and our people, together with our international partners, will strengthen Somalia’s financial institutions, economic growth and it will create sustainable change for the people and the country
