Somali, Italian Special Forces Chiefs Strengthen Military Cooperation

Rome(SONNA)-Commander of the Somali National Army's Special Forces, Adam Mohamed Omar, held talks with the Commander of the Italian Special Operations Command (ITA SOCOM), Admiral Paolo Pezzutti, in Rome to strengthen military cooperation between Somalia and Italy.

The meeting focused on enhancing the capabilities of Somalia's special forces through advanced training, capacity building, and the exchange of expertise. The two sides also discussed expanding support aimed at improving the operational readiness and effectiveness of the Somali National Army's special operations units.

Both commanders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening strategic cooperation and accelerating efforts to build a professional and highly capable Somali special forces unit capable of conducting specialized operations efficiently in support of the country's national security and defense.
