SoDMA Commissioner visits South West State’s Ministry of Health

Baidoa, (SONNA) — The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahamuud Moallim visited the South West State Ministry of Health and Social Care, where he was welcomed by Minister Abdulkadir Sharif Sheikhuna Maye.

The meeting, attended by the Director General, State Minister for Health and South West State Presidential Adviser on Humanitarian Affairs Ibrahim Yarow Isaq, focused on strengthening coordination and cooperation in health-related humanitarian response.

Discussions also covered preparedness for the anticipated impacts of Super El Niño 2026, heavy rainfall and flooding, with emphasis on health preparedness, early warning systems and emergency response plans.

Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim stressed the importance of strong coordination and collaboration to reduce disaster impacts and protect the health and safety of communities across South West State.
