Beijing (SONNA) – The Somali Embassy in China this year organized a vibrant celebration marking African Day in Beijing, bringing together African ambassadors accredited to China, diplomats, and distinguished guests.
Participating African countries showcased their diverse cultures and traditions through traditional dances, music, poetry, cuisine, and national attire representing each country’s heritage.
The Somali Embassy presented Somali culture and traditions, which drew significant attention from attendees. The event also highlighted symbols reflecting the history and unity of the Somali people.
African Day celebrations are held annually in China to strengthen cooperation and relations between African countries and China.
Speaking at the event, Somalia’s Ambassador to China, Hodan Osman Abdi, said the purpose of the celebration was not only to commemorate a historic occasion, but also to create an opportunity for people to learn more about Africa and its diverse cultures.
