Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali Government has on Monday announced that it has suspended all Khat flights from neighboring Kenya to Somalia temporarily, SONNA reported.
Somali Minister of Civil Aviation, Ali Ahmed Jama’ told Somali National News Agency the government decided that take move from tomorrow on Tuesday.
“The Government decided to suspend all flights exporting Khat from Kenya temporarily, it is for some circumstance which I don’t want to get into detail at moment, it is the interest of the country and the decision will take effect tomorrow on Tuesday”, the Minister said.
The Minister added that they informed the notice to concerned institutions and this suspension is related to security or economic issues.
Such move comes IGAD heads of states will arrive in the Somali capital Mogadishu and have summit here on 10th September.
