Mogadishu(SONNA)- At least 13 people were on Tuesday killed, 19 others injured after twin car bomb explosions occurred at Mogadishu International Airport, SONNA reported.
Spokesman of the local government, Abdifitah Omar Halane told Somali National News Agency that the targets were to AU base and Peace Hotel where high profile officials reside.
“The terrorist attacks left 13 people including security forces and private security guards and injured 19 others, there were two vehicles which exploded here”, Halane said.
AMISOM Force Spokesperson, Joe Kibet told SONNA that one of the vehicles approached to their gate, ’Madina-Gate’, and caused damages near the area.
“Al-Shabaab militants targeted one of our base and it approached to it, but no casualties on our side, but it caused damages to civilian buildings and might cause civilian casualties”, Joe said.
Al-Shabaab militants claimed the responsibility of the latest terrorist attack in Mogadishu.
